This Saturday WaterFire is featuring a number of martial arts performers who will join us on the WaterPlace Park stage to showcase their unique and phenomenal art forms. Join us at 7:00 to enjoy performances and demonstrations of various forms of martial arts, showcasing their expressions of culture, tradition, discipline, beauty, and grace.

Carlos De La Cruz from
Tombo Kai Dojo gives a Jiu Jitsu performance
and demonstration.
Jiu Jitsu, literally meaning the "art of softness", or "way of yielding", is a collective name for Japanese martial arts styles including unarmed and armed techniques. Jiu Jitsu evolved among the samurai of feudal Japan as a method for defeating an armed and armored opponents without weapons.
Sensei Daniel Sterling from DS Martial Arts Team will be performing Sports Karate, an art focusing on the physical and mental development of team members with additional emphasis on dignity and class.
Shihan Fernando Fialho and Sensei Marcus Webster will be performing New Wave Kempo, a form of Karate with Japanese roots that combines traditional and modern martial arts.

Capoeira is a form of martial arts created by African Slaves held captive in Brazil. It incorporates dance, self-defense, and acrobatics and is highly respected as one of the most beautiful performing art forms in the world.
Sensei Kevin O’Donnell is a black belt and will be joining us from the Nick Cerio School to perform his martial arts talents.
