at the Turk’s Head Plaza.



TIME OF FIRE:

The fires will be lit shortly after sunset (8:05 p.m.) and remain lit until MIDNIGHT.

WEATHER UPDATES: (Updated: 7/30 10:21am) The weather looks to reach the 90’s during the day and be less humid.  The night will be clear skies and much cooler in the 60’s, which will bring us another lovely evening for WaterFire!

LIVE music at the Turk’s Head Plaza by the Rhode Island Philharmonic!

Approximately 3,000 chairs will be placed in the Plaza for audience members and the LIVE music will be streaming throughout WaterFire for all to hear while enjoying the flames of WaterFire.

The music program will include Wagner’s "Ride of Valkyries," excerpts from Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and Mendelssohn’s Scherzo from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Festival Ballet Providence Professional Company will join the orchestra presenting two world premier works.

Guest singer, Diana McVey will join the orchestra singing Dvorak’s "Song to the Moon" from Rusalka, the Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras No.5 for Soprano and Cellos and Puccini’s O mio babbino caro.
Catch Mime Artist Michael Grando protraying Pierrot (Pedrolino) from the Commedia del’arte, in his naive and everlasting quest to win the heart of a beautiful girl. He will be making his way up and down the river tossing visitors complimentary carnations which reflect the connection between life and art!

RiverWalk: Before the Fires are Lit

Tours last 60 min. and depart at 5:30 p.m. from the John Brown House Museum on 52 Power Street in Providence This walk shares the history of Rhode Island’s capital city and the history of WaterFire. $10 per person. Half of all ticket proceeds from the river walk benefit WaterFire Providence. The tour takes place on all full lightings, reservations requested: Dalila Goulart @ 401.331.8575 x45 or programs@rihs.org.
